These delicious Candied Jalapeno and Cheese “Hotties” (Arabelle’s version of a savory brownie) will be the hit of any gathering! They are truly comfort food at its finest, and no party, event, or tailgate is complete without them! And best of all, they are quick and simple to make and easy to take!
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Makes 16-18 medium sized squares
INGREDIENTS:
4 cups shredded mixed cheese (I prefer a blend mixed with sharp cheddar)*
6 eggs
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cumin
2 tbsp sour cream
1 tsp Arabelle Candied Jalapeno syrup
½ to 1 whole jar Arabelle Candied Jalapenos (depending on how hot you like it)
½ tablespoon paprika
DIRECTIONS:
Combine all ingredients except Jalapenos and Paprika and mix well.
Pour mixture into a 9×13 greased baking dish and spread evenly.
Top mixture evenly with Candied Jalapenos (may either chop or leave whole in rings)
Sprinkle with Paprika
Bake on 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes or when knife inserted comes out clean (do not let the bottom get too brown)
Cut into squares and serve
*Use any cheese you enjoy or have around the house. Really strong cheese such as blue or feta may dominate the taste, but anything else should be fine.
Precooked bacon, sausage, or even ground beef can also be added for a heartier appetizer or even meal!
